Vaccines for Puppies & Dogs

Vaccination helps prevent many diseases that can be fatal for your pet. Many vaccines for puppies and dogs are available at our clinic. Depending on your dog's lifestyle, we'll determine which vaccines are needed to reduce their risk for certain diseases or health issues.

When should I get my puppy vaccinated?

The antibodies received through the mother's milk usually disappear from the puppy's system between 6 and 12 weeks of age. This is the best time to start their vaccinations. The first vaccinations should be repeated every four weeks for two months. After that, they'll need the standard booster shots every one or two years depending on the type of vaccine.

How does it work?

Vaccination stimulates your pet's immune system by injecting small amounts of the virus. Once the virus is in the system, antibodies develop. If your dog is ever exposed to the virus again, but on a larger scale, they'll already have the antibodies to fight it.
